Individual Therapy with Georgiana C. Paolillo, LMHC
“I love working with individuals to help change their relationship with the things that challenge them, or terrify them, the most. Whether it’s ‘only in your head’ or glaringly obvious in the world around you, I value being your partner in figuring it out. Perhaps, it’s time to take a chance? ”
I am a Cognitive-Behavioral therapist, I practice evidence-based, solution-focused treatment modalities. In addition to using the principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to treat depression and anxiety, I specialize in Exposure Response Prevention. I incorporate aspects of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and mindfulness to my ERP practice when treating severe anxiety and OCD. I approach PTSD treatment using Cognitive Processing Therapy.
In addition, I specialize in supporting individuals and families facing perinatal and postpartum mental health challenges. The perinatal and postpartum periods can be a terrifying time to experience anxiety/depression onset or a symptom increase. I value working with individuals to provide resources and evidence-based strategies that encourage healing for the entire family system.
I provide an empathetic, compassionate approach and treatment is individually tailored to meet your needs. I value collaborating with my patients to create treatment goals and to monitor their progress. I believe any “failed” previous treatment experiences are merely brilliant data points we can use to figure out what “will work”.
Working one on one with individuals is my greatest joy. Being given the privilege of joining someone, to help navigate their challenges is an experience I’m thankful for every day.
At this time, all sessions take place virtually over Zoom.
I offer a complimentary 15-minute screening phone call to any new potential patients. Please email gcp@gcpcounesling.com to schedule or reach out using my contact form.
I look forward to expanding my practice to Tennessee & Kentucky. My application for licensure has been submitted, and is currently under review. I will offer in-person session availability in Eastern Tennessee upon license approval.

This is a question I welcome discussing with all prospective patients. Whereas virtual therapy may not be the right fit for everyone, I’ve found huge opportunity in working with patients virtually. It can increase access to care and give us an opportunity to tackle some of the toughest challenges you might be facing at home.
When working with individuals with OCD, I have found virtual treatment greatly enhances my access to more challenging exposure work.
For those facing PPMD, virtual therapy can create the access and flexibility needed to get treatment while also balancing childcare and home responsibilities.
I’m always happy to answer any questions or discuss concerns regarding virtual treatment. If we speak and determine virtual treatment is not an appropriate fit to meet your needs at this time, I will provide referrals for in-person treatment in your area.

Exposure Response Prevention is the evidence-based treatment for OCD & related anxiety disorders. It’s about changing out relationship with your fear and learning how to live your life fully in spite of the fear.
In my experience, many patients who enter therapy seeking ERP, have some familiarity with the “exposure” aspect of ERP. However, I find creating strong Response Prevention skills is a key aspect in working toward symptom reduction of severe anxiety.
