Georgiana C. Paolillo, LMHC
I specialize in empirically supported treatments for OCD and related disorders. I have trained and worked as an OCD specialist for the last seven years. Most recently, I was the Director of the Intensive Outpatient Program for OCD & related anxiety disorders at New York Anxiety Treatment in New York, New York. I co-developed this evidence-based intensive outpatient treatment with Anna R. Edwards, PhD. This is the first 6-week intensive option available for individuals with OCD and severe anxiety in the greater New York area. I have presented work and facilitated trainings regarding evidence-based treatments for OCD, locally in New York and nationally.
I recently transitioned to private practice, allowing me to devote more time to my 1:1 patients. In addition to working with individuals with anxiety, I enjoy working with families and friends of individuals with OCD to help them best support their loved ones who are struggling.
In 2023, I completed training through Postpartum Support International to treat perinatal and postpartum mental health disorders. I am particularly interested in perinatal and postpartum OCD and am passionate about helping families and individuals facing these challenges.
I earned my Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Pace University, and completed my clinical internship at The Center for Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy in New York, New York with Steven Phillipson, PhD. I completed my post-graduate hours at New York Anxiety Treatment under the supervision of Anna R. Edwards, PhD.
Before attending graduate school, I worked in various other fields including scriptwriting, production and hospitality. I’ve learned first hand that it’s never too late to make the choice to take a risk.
I am currently licensed in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. I look forward to expanding my practice to Tennessee & Kentucky. My application for licensure has been submitted, and is currently under review. I look forward to offering in-person session availability in Eastern Tennessee upon license approval.

Exposure Response Prevention is the evidence-based treatment for OCD & related anxiety disorders.
In my experience, many patients who enter therapy seeking ERP, have some familiarly with the “exposure” aspect of treatment. However, I find creating strong Response Prevention skills is a key aspect in working toward symptom reduction of severe anxiety.

This is a question I welcome discussing with all prospective patients. Whereas virtual therapy may not be the right fit for everyone, I’ve found huge opportunity in working with patients virtually. It can increase access to care and give us an opportunity to tackle some of the toughest challenges individuals might be facing at home.
When working with individuals with OCD, I have found virtual treatment greatly enhances my access to more challenging exposure work.
I’m always happy to answer any questions or discuss concerns regarding virtual treatment.
